We are The Founding

 

The Founding is a Progressive Folk band from Kalamazoo, Michigan. With their timeless, powerful approach to songwriting and unique instrumentation, they strive to balance tradition and innovation as they bring new music to life. This genre-defining band has performed at theaters and festivals throughout the United States.

We were able to connect with so many amazing bands and filmmakers from around Michigan, and we even walked away with our very own award! 🤩 The competition was stiff, and a huge congrats to the runner up in the Celtic music video category @onthelashbandofficial! Also, a big thanks to @marggy_grr_ and the crew for filming Hush for us 💯

Let's Keep Supporting Local Music! 🤝🎶 . . . Hey everyone, we hope you're having a great start to the year, and we can't wait to see you all next month! You'll be hearing more on our March shows soon, but in the meantime we'd like to share about a small way you can make an impact on the local music scene. We're very happy to be joining the lineup of the 4th annual Forest Trail Music Fest @foresttrailmusic, and they need the help of local music lovers to build a new and improved stage to host great music at this wonderful festival. We hope to see this fest grow bigger and better over the coming years, and this is an important step in the process. This trip was memorable in so many ways, from talented acts as far away as Dublin, to a town buzzing with energy and expectation for great music, to some of the best wings you've ever tasted right there at The Shamrock. For us, though, it was a pleasure to be able to share the stage with a couple of our new favorite people, @carstenforester and @thealliekat7 . The town, the people, and the Tridge were a delight! We were super bummed to be missing our man behind the keys, @lukas.stanley, especially considering it was his hometown show.
